The Holy Bible We believe the Holy Bible is the Living Word of the Living God. It is "sharper than any two edged sword". "The Old and New Testaments both are equally important for equipping the saints for the work of the ministry and for building up the body of Christ." Ephesians 4:12
The Holy Trinity We believe God exits eternally in 3 persons- God, The Father, God The Son, Jesus Christ and God The Holy Spirit.
Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ We believe int he virgin birth of Jesus Christ.
Crucifixion, Death and Resurrection We believe Jesus Christ died for our sins on the Cross, on the third day He rose again and was seen by His followers and then He ascended to Heaven where He is sitting at the right hand of the God the Father.
Sacraments We believe in the sacraments of the church ordained by Lord Jesus Christ- the Holy Communion and adult baptism by immersion in the water. But salvation does not depend on these sacraments. Salvation is through Christ alone.
The Original Sin and Salvation We believe that due to the original sin of Adam and Eve, all human kind is tainted and thus is separated from God. Only the blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse us from the taint of this sin and reconcile us with God again.
The day of the Lord/judgement day We believe that one day Christ will return to judge the world according to their deeds.
Heaven and Hell We believe in literal heaven and hell. Followers of Christ will inherit heaven while all those who reject Christ will be the dwellers of hell.
Men and women in ministry We believe God created all mankind (men and women) on His image. Therefore, men and women are equally responsible to teaching, preaching and proclaiming the truth of the gospel to the world.
Role of the local church The church's mission is to glorify God by preaching the message of salvation through Christ alone. The church is the visible hands and feet of Jesus Christ in the world. Every member of the church is gifted in their unique ways to proclaim the good news and to help the hurting community in tangible ways. Men and women are equally equipped to teach, preach and proclaim the message of the gospel.
Church Discipline Matthew 18:15-19: “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
we believe in church discipline and see it as an act of love. It is important that Christians in the church should live a life glorifying God. We believe in 3 steps discipline as explained in this verse by Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal of the disciplining a sinning member of the church family is to win them over for Christ. There is no condemnation in Christ but continuous living in sin and not acknowledging the authority of the Scripture is not only serious but a rebellious act towards God. That is why we believe it is the responsibility of church leaders to rebuke and correct the sin and follow the steps taught by our Lord Jesus Christ to win the brother and sister over.
Church membership: (Taken from Christianity Today article by ED STETZER) Biblical Membership Why then do we have membership? Because regardless of how the culture sees it or Christians misunderstand it, membership is not simply an opportunity to say, I’m a part of a club, but rather a scriptural expression of covenant connectedness to a church. There are three things that help us understand why church membership is biblical and important. 1. Membership Reflects What the Church Is.First, membership is a reflection of the organic community already existing in the body. Paul says we are a body. Can one part say to the other, “I’m not part of you”? No, it is already a part. But too often we live as if we are separated. As a matter of fact, too many churches or Christian gatherings look like piles of dismembered body parts, not a body knit together as God’s agent, his body, his kingdom, at work in the world. To reject the value of membership is to deny what God has already established in fact. 2. The Bible Teaches Covenant Community.We find in Paul’s letters to the church at Corinth that they were putting people out of the body. So Scripture teaches that we can be a part of the body, and we can be apart from the body. It is difficult to get around Scripture when it talks about being brought into the body and also being put out of it. And yet for most churches there’s no way to put somebody out because they’re not even in. While there seems to be flexibility according to various bodies, there is no such thing in the New Testament as a church without some recognition of belonging—of membership in community. People need membership commitment because they need to be connected to a Christian community. 3. People Need Church Membership.Finally, we recognize biblical membership matters because people need it. People need membership commitment because they need to be connected to a Christian community. This is not just for the sake of the faith community, but also for the sake of the individual. Individualist Christianity is a myth and a damaging pursuit. At the end of the day we’re redeemed. We’re placed in the body. The Bible specifically says he has redeemed us. He has transferred us, Colossians 1 says, from the domain of darkness into the kingdom of the Son he loves. A kingdom has a king. The king has subjects and his kingdom has a community together where we function as God’s people.
